Course Intro.

Overview

It is purposed to cultivate musicians who are capable of personal performance, playing and ensembles.
This can be achieved as prospective musicians are trained professionally to be able to keep basic postures,
play musical instruments and acquire advanced techniques.

    Guitar part

  • Basic knowledge and techniques
  • Acquiring major scales and basic playing techniques
  • Basic understanding Dorian and other important modes as
    well as code tones
  • Code progression and code melodies practice
  • Learning standard songs and in-depth code tone practice
  • Various mode applications and understanding of code
    melodies and melodic minors

    Bass part

  • Basic rhythm training and fingerboard harmony
  • Chord and scale, Bossanova, and chord tone solo
  • Swing rhythm training, walking bass, and blues form
  • Jazz blues, bird blues, minor blues and modal tune
  • Rhythm change, bebop line and intervallic line

    Drum part

  • Basic sticking through sticking patterns of Gary Chaffee
  • Drum playing by time based on billboard records (1970s)
  • Basic sticking and rhythm through sticking patterns of Gary Chaffee
  • Billboard through look at this age-specific playing drums(1980's)
  • Analysis of 25 pop drummers
  • Drum recording

    Jazz Piano part

  • Understanding jazz, basic scales, swing rhythm and LHV (left hand voicing)
  • Swing, ballad and various improvisation techniques
  • Understanding Bossanova & Latin rhythms and improvisation techniques
  • Understanding Waltz and solo monk music

    Saxophone part

  • Understanding saxophone as a musical instrument, basic playing techniques and
    abdominal breathing
  • Basic scale and practicing repertoire (ballad, pop, etc.)
  • Understanding basic rhythm and techniques
  • Practicing Major 12 Keys and Jazz Pattern Codes
  • Understanding and application of harmonics, high-note fingering and mode
  • Blues scale, method of codes application and solo blues
